Celebrating 1 year on substack!
Some reflections and a special offer...
My substack turned 1 a couple of weeks ago and I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you. I know who you are, I see you liking, commenting, sharing and it honestly means more than you could imagine.
For the last 7 years i have shared my life on instagram stories pretty religiously- i can count on two hands the number of days i haven’t shared something. Whilst 90% of interactions are lovely, there have definitely been moments i’ve questioned sharing so much when people can be so demanding and i’ve definitely had my share of pretty mean comments/DMs etc (get your tiny violins out!)
I think the perception of ‘influencers’ is changing (for the better) and people are being held more accountable for how they engage with content creators which is great but it’s still a completely bizarre job where are your colleagues and clients are people you’ve never met and it can often feel quite thankless!!
Anyway, i feel like Substack came about at just the right time because it is a smaller community of people who really value what you do and i can’t tell you how good it feels to write on here. I try and provide as much real value as i can- i made a conscious decision to stop sharing any sources on my instagram last year so this outlet has been perfect for giving away sources, design secrets and bargains and i really hope it continues to be useful to you!
Like i said the other day, I am going to share a weekly renovation post on here too (since 2026 will be the year of project no 5!) where i will talk about project challenges, unforeseen costs, and little hacks to make your home look more well considered.
